Gelsomina travels with the circus-artist Zampano from one village to another. Instead of love and care which she hopes to get, Zampano treats his assistant with harshness. One day she wakes up and finds herself alone on the stage in front of the audience. The only thing she has is a suitcase full of old junk. By making up a circus story out of it, she finds back her self-confidence and freedom. The authors of the performance were inspired by Federico Fellini's film “La Strada”.
